Canyoning, safari, penguins and much more
on the “road trip through South Africa”

19 days adventurous vacation at the southernmost point of Africa. Experience the Big Five on a safari in the savannah, see the unique landscape with Table Mountain, canyoning, surfing and swimming with seals. Our South Africa Road Trip offer a variety of activities in one of the most impressive scenery in Africa.

Our adventure begins upon arrival in Johannesburg. From here we travel together in the morning to the Pilanesberg National Park, where we spend the night in a resort. There we go on Big Five Safaris for 2 days and explore our first canyon. We drive through the African bush in search of lions, elephants and rhinos, enjoy a local BBQ and relax in this special atmosphere. We start our outdoor activities with the Grootkloof Canyon.

On day 6 we travel on to Port Elizabeth in the morning by domestic flight and end the day with surfing in the Indian Ocean. The next few days we travel the “Garden Route” towards Cape Town. We travel together in a van, spend the night in selected accommodations, hostels or holiday homes and experience the special features of the respective location. A road trip peppered with nature, action, adventure and enough flexibility to experience South Africa intensively.

Travel to Johannesburg on your own. You can find flight connections to South Africa at AirFrance / KLM or Emirates, for example. Meeting point after arrival at the airport or at the accommodation.

day 2 – Arrival
Sightseeing in Johannesburg

Day 3 – Drive and Safari
Drive to the Pilanesberg National Park, afternoon safari

Day 4 – Safari
Safari drive in the morning (hot air balloon ride possible), in the afternoon at leisure

Day 5 – Canyoning / Kloofing
Grootkloof canyoning and return to Johannesburg

Flight to Port Elizabeth and afternoon surfing with an instructor.

Day 7 – Baviaanskloof Canyoning
A full day, then it’s time to have dinner and relax.

Day 8 – Road Trip
In the mornings we go blackwater tubing and SUP. If you want, you can bungy jump at Bloukrans Bridge, go to Monkeyland or visit a snake farm.

Day 9 – Africanyoning
Vm Canyoning in the Craggs, nm Salt River Mouth Hike and Sundowner Session at Nature’s Valley Beach with Frizbee / Soccer

Day 10 – Road trip, swim with seals, hiking
In the morning we swim with seals in the sea, in the afternoon hike to our accommodation on the Robberg Peninsula (not accessible by car), sundowner on the beach and relax.

Free day – possible activities: skydiving, diving or just relaxing and enjoying.

Day 12 – Road Trip
Road trip to Wilderness via Knysna with boat tour

Day 13 – Canyoning Wilderness
Canyoning Wilderness in the morning, in the afternoon we go kayaking in the Garden Route National Park – Touws River

Day 14 – Road Trip
Road trip towards Mossel Bay with a visit to Cape Agulhas (southernmost tip of Africa)

Day 15 – Canyoning
Suicide Gorge – full day of canyoning

Day 16 – Sightseeing Drive
Sightseeing drive to Cape Town with African penguins, False Bay and Cape Peninsula, lunch stop at Kalky’s and drive around Chapmans Peak

Day 17 – Sightseeing in Cape Town
Sightseeing with Table Mountain and city tour, if necessary, we test one or the other wine from South Africa

Day 18 – departure
Flight to Johannesburg and onward flight to Germany

Day 19 – Arrival in Germany

  • A good general health condition. Health impairments are taken into account in the route planning. Restrictions on dizziness and swimming skills as well.
  • If necessary, a visa is necessary for you, inform yourself beforehand

Arrival Departure:
You do it yourself, you can find flights to Johannesburg with Air France / KLM, for example, you also need a flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg on the last day.

Basecamps:
Once in Jo-Burg, Bakgatla or Manyane Resort, Island Vibe, Rocky Road, Robberg Fountain Shack, vacation home in Plett, Wilderness, Bot Rivier Hotel or vacation home in Kleinmond, hotel / hostel in Cape Town or similar.

We aim to keep the property as private as possible. A maximum of 2-3 people per room. Most of the accommodations are en suite, unless this is not possible.

Catering: Meals are self-organized or organized in groups; individual meals are sometimes included

Minimum number of participants: Min. 5 people and max. 8 people

  • Tour duration: daily approx. 4-7 hours canyoning tour – depending on the canyon
