Canyoning trip to Majorca

Mallorca Canyoning Holidays Away from the wilderness ..

Mallorca, the largest island in the Balearic Islands, is the most popular holiday island for Germans with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. But only a few visitors move far away from the tourist centers. Get to know the untouched nature and the beauty of the Mallorcan gorges with us.

Together with our two highly trained guides, five action-packed tours await you, which you can choose together the evening before. So you get your money’s worth. Of course, Sa Fosca shouldn’t be missing in such a week. This canyon is one of the top 10 worldwide. The rock walls of the canyon sometimes protrude 300m high and are only 35cm apart in places. The most impressive part, however, is the last piece, because as the name Sa Fosca (the darkness) already suggests, this part of the gorge runs underground. You follow the underground stream for about 1.5 hours, climbing, abseiling, swimming and running until you come back to daylight. Mallorca with purelements, that stands not only for fun and action but also for relaxation and enjoyment. Experience Mallorca from a new side with us, far away from the typical tourist resorts.

procedure

Most people come to the Spanish island of Mallorca by plane, but arriving by ferry via Barcelona should also be very exciting. When approaching for landing, you can already see the Tramuntana Mountains from the plane. Home to countless caves and canyons and that’s exactly what we’re here for.

We meet at a central location at the airport in Palma de Mallorca, check whether everything fits and from there we start with the rental car to the accommodation at Sóller. The next 7 nights we will spend the night in a holiday home or a fincá. From here we start every day on great canyoning and cave tours.

Arrival of all travel participants by 5:00 p.m. and meeting point for all participants at PMI airport.

To start the canyoning tours on the holiday island of Mallorca, we choose an easy and beautiful tour today. We go through all the safety instructions again and experience the special flair of the Tramuntana for the first time. In Canyon Coanegra we find perfect conditions to start the adventure week in Mallorca.

Then we stroll through the narrow streets of Sóller and enjoy the Spanish lifestyle with tapas, olives and a glass of red wine. We are planning the next few days.

The Torrent de l’Ofre above the village of Biniaraix is one of the better known gorges in Mallorca. The canyon leads down from a beautiful high plateau, which we first reach via a 1.5 hour hike. The creek leads down over sintered waterfalls and open passages, cuts deeper and deeper into the limestone of Mallorca and leads us through narrow canyon parts further and further down towards Sóller.

Again and again we look beyond the vegetation and can see the Mediterranean. Great views from the canyon alternate with the playful sintering of the waterfalls.

Go on! After further abseiling points, the gorge suddenly opens, olive trees line the terraces, the river widens – another great double abseil point and we have reached the end of the canyon.

A great hike takes us over a hand-paved path and through olive groves back to the cars.

Today there is something special on the plan – a cave tour into a cave in the cliffs of Mallorca. We start our day with a flat hike above the cliffs of the south coast of Mallorca. We make rapid progress through the low brush and the good path. Again and again we see small cave entrances, holes and the deep blue Mediterranean. We reached a small sandy bay and the view is clear of a large cave portal. But how does it go in?

When we arrive at the bay, we change our clothes and start swimming in the sea. The swimming passage leads us along the rocks to the large cave portal. We swim in, turn on the light and suddenly you see it, a small hole at the end – it leads further into a dream world of water, stalactites and rock formations.

We enjoy the time in the caves, swim in the cave lake past the stalagmites and stalactites, some of which have already joined together to form columns. After this extraordinary cave experience, we swim back on land and hike back to the car.

A day off is planned for you today. You are also welcome to go on an additional canyoning or cave tour. We can decide this on site. Otherwise there is time for the beach, culture and enjoyment on the Balearic island of Mallorca.

A hike in Mallorca in the Serra de Tramunta is also a great option for today.

One of the most famous canyoning tours in Mallorca is the Gorg Blau and Sa Fosca Canyon. It flows below a reservoir towards the Torrent des Pareis (Mallorca’s most famous hike). The two gorges meet at the Entrefoc (that’s the name of the place). The canyon is the most special of Mallorca’s canyons, long, narrowly cut and at the end even dark – a cave canyon.

Depending on the water level, we start at different points, both variants offer an extraordinary gorge experience and lead us deep into the cut gorge. It’s getting tighter and tighter, the light is getting really pale … but we are prepared, have headlamps with us and set off into the cave canyon of Mallorca. After about 1.5-2 hours of total darkness, the gorge leads between huge rock faces out into the Torrent des Pareis.

Before that we decided whether we would like to hike back up to Escorca or whether we would continue to follow the Torrent des Pareis to Sa Calobra by the sea. We decide that according to the weather and water conditions.

One highlight follows the other – today you can go canyoning in Mortitx down to the sea. Depending on the conditions, we start the canyon from above via a hike or with a boat tour and a via ferrata over the sea. This canyoning experience on Mallorca can hardly be described. Pictures say more than words and it is even better to have experienced it!

With a last breakfast together we review the canyoning tours of Mallorca, the caves of the Balearic Islands and the hikes in the Serra de Tramuntana, enjoy another freshly squeezed orange juice and make ourselves satisfied and happy on the way to the airport and travel back individually home.
